Lunchtime at Bluecadet

February 17, 2012 by Harrison Haas

Bluecadet's designers get their ideas from all over the web. Recently we were passing around this collection of vintage 50s advertisements when we realized our inspiration didn’t have to stop at merely viewing the ads. Why not try making the featured dishes?

And so a plan was hatched; Friday would be the day where we’d get to try the products enjoyed (or at least endorsed) by our 1950s forebears. Would they be as appetizing as the advertisements promised?

Friday arrived and Kim and Victoria didn’t disappoint. We were the lucky recipients of a Vegetable Pie Salad. No, that sentence wasn't missing any commas.

Lunch as Advertised

Pie Plate Salad is a delightful delicious interesting mix of vegetables and Jello. Combining the taste of canned vegetables (carrots, peas, beans, and corn) with the nutritious qualities of Jello was sure to be a hit.

Lunch!

Well, at least we had dessert to wash it down?
